Twin Rivers Charter School (TRCS) believes that all students have a right to a safe and healthy school environment and ensuring the safety of our students is one of our most important jobs. No matter where a student goes, it is essential that they arrive safe and protected. The school has an extensive safety plan that is kept in the office.
To be compliant with safety updates, TRCS has a committee that looks at all aspects of student and staff safety. The purpose of the Twin Rivers Charter School Safety Committee is to bring employees from both classified, certificated and administration together in a non-adversarial, cooperative effort to promote safety and health at TRCS. The safety committee plans and makes recommendations for change based on the school site needs. The committee meets annually prior to the start of school to ensure safety.
Fire drills and evacuation drills are practiced on a regular basis. In the event that we would have to evacuate our buildings for an extended time, our parents are contacted.
Parents would be responsible for signing their students out if such an emergency did occur. If the necessity should arise to close down the school, please listen to the local Yuba City radio stations. Please also check this website for updates, but realize that if electricity is off, the website may be unable to be updated with safety information.
More information can be found upon request in the TRCS office.
